Calligraphy

I researched East Asian calligraphy. Do you know calligraphy? It’s Syodou(書道) in Japanese. I have practiced it for 8 years, and I have the highest grade 5 dan. Calligraphy was born in China at first. Word shape is divided into 3 types, Kaisyo（楷書）, Gyousyo（行書） and Sousyo（草書）, Kisyo is normal shape which we write everyday. Gyosyo is a little collapsed word. We can barely read. Sousyo is more collapsed word. We can not read completely. It’s like snake!! Tools are Suzuri, brush, ink and paper. Suzuri is made by stone, but sometimes pottery. Brush’s hair is made from horse, sheep and raccoon dog. Ink is called Bokujyuu. It’s made by oil and firmed by gelatin or soot. Brush’s handle is made by tree or bamboo. Paper is very thin white paper. Sometimes Japanese paper is used.

New Zealand

I'm going to introduce New Zealand’s world heritage. New Zealand has two world heritages. Te Mahipounamu is one of them. I introduce this. Te Wahipounamu is natural park. It means “Source of Green Stone” in Maori language. It stands south west of New Zealand and is made up of four national parks. It’s very masgnificent! The natural is very severe, it have not changed since the glacial period. Top of the mountain is 3756 meters tall. Other mountains are also over 300 meter. Many kinds of birds live there.

Konomiya Hadaka Festival

I introduce my city festival. This is “Konomiya Hadaka Festival”. Many men wear Hundoshi only. One of the men is called “God man”. If they can touch the “God man”, they will live happy this year. But men drink heavily, it is danger to see the festival. It is danger for children to go to school the day, so elementary school and junior high school will be holiday. Therefore I’ve never seen the festival… I’ve seen only TV.

Favorite Movie

I did not watch a movie during summer vacation, so I’m going to tell you a movie that I’ve liked for long time. It is “My neighbor Totoro” It was made in 1988. This is a story about evil sprit called Totoro and two sisters. It is famous for Miyazaki Hayao Anime series.

Two sisters and her father moved new house. The house was very old and like haunted house. To live home like haunted house was father’s dream.

One day young sister Mei found small tunnel in the garden. She went to more inmost. Accidentally , she stroke on very big animal. That was a Totoro.

Her mother was in hospital. Mei wanted to deliver a corn she harvested herself to mother anyway, tried to go there alone, but she lost the way. Old sister Satuki and neighbor people searched very much. Finally, Satuki asked Totoro to find out Mei. Totoro makes “Neko-bus” to pick up Mei.

Mei and Satuki took the “Neko-bus” and flew to mother’s hospital. Thanks to Totoro, they could see fine mother’s face from on the tree and Mei put on a corn near the window. They appreciated Totoro. Let’s watch the “My neighbor Totoro”.
