Calligraphy
I researched East Asian calligraphy. Do you know calligraphy? It’s Syodou(書道) in Japanese. I have practiced it for 8 years, and I have the highest grade 5 dan. Calligraphy was born in China at first. Word shape is divided into 3 types, Kaisyo(楷書), Gyousyo(行書) and Sousyo(草書), Kisyo is normal shape which we write everyday. Gyosyo is a little collapsed word. We can barely read. Sousyo is more collapsed word. We can not read completely. It’s like snake!! Tools are Suzuri, brush, ink and paper. Suzuri is made by stone, but sometimes pottery. Brush’s hair is made from horse, sheep and raccoon dog. Ink is called Bokujyuu. It’s made by oil and firmed by gelatin or soot. Brush’s handle is made by tree or bamboo. Paper is very thin white paper. Sometimes Japanese paper is used.
